Lovingly restored, The Shires is a contemporary barn conversion on the edge of the pretty seaside village of St Agnes, just 1.5 miles from the coast. Combining both traditional character and modern living, itâs the perfect holiday property for a family or group of friends (and their dogs!) to explore this beautiful part of Cornwall.
The property has a reverse layout with two bedrooms on the ground floor. Bedroom number one has a king-size bed, Smart television and en-suite shower room, while bedroom number two has two single beds, which can also be converted into a second king-size bed. The family bathroom, also on the ground floor, contains a shower over the bath and a WC.
The first floor contains the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, all with high vaulted ceilings and wooden beams. The living area has a selection of comfortable seating, Smart television and a cosy wood burning stove â the perfect place for relaxing after a day on the beach or exploring Cornwall. The kitchen is well-equipped with a modern design and a range of appliances, including dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine.
The Shires has use of the lovely communal gardens and a private patio area. There is a store room with beach equipment for guests to borrow, as well as storage for bicycles etc. Here youâll also find outdoor furniture and a barbecue for use during your stay.

The thick, rustic dining table adds to the rural character of the room and offers a delightful spot to enjoy hearty meals with your loved ones whilst enjoying the view. When it comes to preparing meals, the kitchen is a stylish place to be and features all the amenities you'll need. The room features pretty pale blue units and calming larch panelling that give it a nice beachside vibe. The bathroom also features a WC and a basin as well as underfloor heating and electric towel rails to keep you toasty and warm when you step out of the shower. There's also a handy cloakroom downstairs. One of the absolute best features of Anchor Cottage is the front garden. This walled terrace has a nice outdoor dining area, a comfy wrap-around bench seat and a firepit to keep you warm when the sun goes down.
