Raffer Yem Shepherd's Hut
£82.50 per night
Introducing Raffer Yem, the latest space to join us at this stunning 200 acre rewilded site in Durham.
It's not just the grounds that are sustainability focused, you'll find reclaimed features and materials throughout the cabin, from the porthole window to the repurposed automotive lights. Off grid and wifi-free, this is the perfect chance to slow down a little and reconnect to what really matters.<br.The reclaimed materials used to build this cabin – like the reclaimed boat porthole you’ll spend your time peering out of, the automotive lights that now illuminate the coppery interior or even the Victorian mop bucket sink, will all remind you of the sustainability ethos here at Crowdy Hall. The land’s been in the family for 100 years, and the stewardship of these incredible 200 acres, and preserving them for future generations, is of vital importance. The site is left purposefully wild and un-landscaped to have as minimal impact as possible, so you can explore all of the pastures and denes, and enjoy the off-grid, low impact space as naturally as possible. Escaping the hustle and bustle of city-living is easy, with only 12v power, no three plugs, and no wifi. Spend your time on the important stuff, and the important people.
Spend your days out on deck, indoors by the picture window, or lying under the skylight watching the wildlife flit past. But when you’re not back at the cabin relaxing, you can hop to the seaside half an hour away for coastal strolls and wide open beaches or, with the North Pennines just 40 minutes the other direction, there’s plenty more wild to explore.
