Four former stables and barns have been repurposed into self-contained cottages accommodating up to 18 guests, perfect for a special occasion or to gather family and friends together. Beyond the natural beauty, you're spoiled for choice in leisure activities at this beautiful resort. Enjoy a few rallies on the tennis court and explore the 30-acre estate, including private woodland, before relaxing in the spa and dipping in the outdoor heated pool. For the wilder among you, there's always a swim in the private lake during the warmer months. The largest of the cottages, the Coach House, has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Underfloor heating will keep you toasty in the winter, and there's also a private four-seater hot tub in the enclosed garden. The Cottage has two ensuite bedrooms, one with a glazed balcony overlooking the piazza. The Studio has two bedrooms, both with ensuites. Like the Cottage, you can look over the piazza from the glazed balcony, and all three cottages have log burners to keep you toasty and warm all year round. Finally, the Apartment can sleep up to four guests, but it's up to you whether you prefer one bedroom and a sitting room, two bedrooms or two spaces to entertain. The cottages are self-contained but close to one another around a paved courtyard, giving you the ideal balance of socialising and relaxation. When you want to gather together, the private dining room seats 20, and you can savour the outdoor dining terrace on sunnier days. For the ultimate experience, book a bespoke banquet of East Asian cuisine from Li's kitchen on-site, or if you want to venture beyond the estate, dine out or go for a pint at the village pub, the Clovelly Inn, it's just a walk away. Be sure to sample all the estate's facilities, including the hot tub, hydro pool, wellness spa and sauna, and then curl up with a good book on the swing-egg chair under the veranda of the lounge. Once recharged, stroll around the lake and forest, fire up the BBQ in the outdoor cooking area outside the Coach House garden or hire the automatic ball serving machine at the tennis court. When you can tear yourself away from your country resort, explore the beauty of Dartmoor National Park. Whether walking, cycling or horse riding is your adventure of choice, there's plenty to explore in the vast open moorlands.

The Bull Inn in is an organic, ingredient-led pub, that offers guests a wonderfully comfy stay in the Devon countryside. This Devonshire gem is fully committed to keeping its environmental footprint to a minimum - which fits perfectly into the alternative and bohemian approach the market town is known for. There are eight rooms at the inn. This includes two king size rooms and six super-king rooms, each with an en-suite. Four of the super-king rooms can alternatively be made up as twins to ensure more versatility. Two of these have en-suite bathrooms with a tub, and the other two have en-suite shower rooms. These slightly larger rooms also have enough space for a cot if you're travelling with a baby. Each room is truly unique and is completed with an array of furniture from antique fairs and flea markets. There are also bespoke touches, such as the bedside lamps carved from Dartmoor wood, while original features such as open fireplaces and high ceilings have been preserved where possible. The building itself has undergone a huge refit and refurbishment, but most of the original fittings and furnishings have been reclaimed or upcycled to give a quirky feel. While the old has been preserved as much as it can be, this is mixed with modern living - such as solar panels on the roof, a heat recovery system throughout, as well as stylish bathrooms and plush carpets underfoot. The bar is full of fabulous organic wine as well as organic draught beers from Stroud Organic Brewery and spirits. There is a relaxed and informal feel with an open kitchen and a mixture of locals and those staying mingling together in what has been lovingly described as a “decent boozer”. The historic town of Totnes where The Bull Inn is situated is now synonymous with eco-living and a different way of life. The high street is home to a wide range of independent and unique shops selling an array of ethical products, wholefoods, and fair trade goods. It is also full of natural beauty, located as it is on the banks of the River Dart and close to Dartmoor National Park and South Devon’s beautiful sandy beaches.
