The Roost is home to two gorgeous, multi-award winning cedar wood cabins - The Nest and The Nook. Sleeping two adults (and up to two dogs) in each, the cabins can be rented together with friends or individually for a romantic escape. Both styled to perfection, you’ll find the cabins brimming with bespoke furniture and laid-back interiors. And with a cosy wood burning stove, outdoor Japanese hot tubs and your own private fire-pit, there’s plenty of opportunity to relax in style. Situated in 2.5 acres of private meadow, The Nest and The Nook both have ample space to breathe in the beautiful surroundings. Both cabins have their own private landscaped areas to enjoy - with each cabin looking as charming and welcoming as the next. The open-plan interior is perfectly put together. The lounge styling is suitably relaxed - with a thick rug, cosy textiles and well-stocked book shelves sitting perfectly next to the sofa, wood burning stove and romantic table for two. The bespoke kitchen area has all you could need to rustle up simple meals, with an induction hob, mini oven, fridge (with a small ice box) and a dishwasher. And the wooden worktops and open shelving keeps things looking superbly rustic. The basics are helpfully provided by the thoughtful owners - ground coffee, tea, rice, porridge etc. There's even some complimentary home baking on arrival. The handmade king size beds are stunning. Dressed in soft linens and plenty of blankets, they both make the cosiest nook or nest. And both bathrooms are sparkling clean with large walk-in power showers and complimentary toiletries - including beautiful handmade Mitcheldean soap. Head back out through the large patio doors to revel in some time on your gorgeous covered deck. Here you can indulge in the Japanese hot tub and cedar swinging love seat - arguably, the most romantic decks in the whole of the Forest of Dean. There’s also a great firepit area that comes complete with a griddle and cooking utensils - perfect for some al-fresco cooking or marshmallow melting. Both the cabins welcome up to two dogs. With their own handmade doggy truckle bed, blanket, dog treats, and water and food bowls, it’s safe to say that man’s best friend is perfectly provided for too! With walkies from the door, you’ll both easily be able to get out and explore the beautiful surroundings. The location is fantastic, with walking and cycle routes through the forest from the door it couldn’t be easier to get out amongst the thick of it. Bring your own bikes or hire them onsite. If you prefer river-life then canoeing and wild swimming are both just a few minutes drive away. With plenty of places to eat out, you’ll be spoilt for choice. There’s even a micro brewery in the village of Mitcheldean - which has a tap room open on a Friday afternoon & evening.
