Sitting amongst rugged cliffs with a beach at the bottom of the garden, this beautiful cottage offers guests seclusion, relaxation and peace only disturbed by the crashing of the waves onto the sand. This magical location is the ultimate place to retreat from the world and leave all the stress and worry behind while reconnecting with the sublime simplicity of nature. Portamaggie Cottage, as well as its breathtaking location, has everything guests need for a romantic, relaxed and luxurious retreat. This warm and welcoming refuge is built from traditional whitewashed stone with a modern conservatory and outdoor deck to maximise the stunning ocean backdrop. Guests will love resting from their journey in the cosy living room, sinking into the large sofa with a hot drink and enjoying the sounds of the ocean and the flicker of the flames in the wood burner. On stormy nights, batten down the hatches and curl up with a loved-one, watch a movie on the flat screen television and make plans for the next day. The immediate area is great for sea fishing and the kitchen is well-equipped for cooking up the catch of the day, or any of the abundant and delicious local produce. And if you did fancy popping to the beach for a day out, there are two beach chairs and a picnic blanket available for you to use! A dining table, and further sofa, is found in the bright conservatory, where guests will enjoy the most memorable and romantic meals. Make a toast to the magnificent view of the beach and ocean beyond all whilst staying warm and dry in the cottage. In warmer months, pull open the conservatory doors and step out on the wooden raised deck and make the most of the long light evenings. Pour a glass of bubbly and slide into the steamy hot tub where guests may spot dolphins and minke whales out at sea. When the fresh Scottish air heavies eyelids and it is time for bed, head up the wooden stairway to the calming bedroom. The large bed sits on thick carpet and has cosy throws and crisp linens which keep guests snug all night long. Open the window on warmer nights and fall to sleep lulled by the sounds of the sea. Portmaggie Cottage is wonderfully located for nature lovers and guests will love rambling over the cliff tops spotting the abundant birdlife. The walk takes guests to the local harbour village Portpatrick where visitors can pick up supplies and enjoy food and drinks along the harbourside. Portpatrick is also home to a picturesque golf course.
