The Royal Oak Inn is beautifully located at the foot of the South Downs in the picture perfect Downland village of East Lavant. This stunning inn offers up five ensuite bedrooms, a two-storey family room and two cottages in the most glorious surroundings - with each getting its own perfect view. And the pub will keep you well fed and watered with locally sourced contemporary British food and hand selected cask ales. Located in a pretty village dotted with thatched cottages, flint walls and a 13th Century church, it’s a gorgeous part of the country. The Royal Oak has five ensuite rooms that each have fabulous views over the stunning countryside. The peaceful bedrooms all have muted colour schemes, luxurious textiles and elegant styling. And the modern bathrooms are all sparkling with complimentary Temple Spa Toiletries, power showers and fluffy bathrobes. The rooms each have flatscreen TVs, DVD players and i-pod docking stations. And there are gorgeous little finishing touches with espresso machines, mini fridges and an array of books and games. There is also a family room, with living over two-storeys, for those that like a little more space to spread out. And for those wanting their own private bolt hole, there are two cottages across the road from the pub. These offer up self-catering facilities with a full kitchen, private terrace and two bedrooms. The pub is perfectly cosy with an open fire and simply dressed tables. The food philosophy is ‘from field to fork’ and they make use of the fabulous produce available to them on their doorstep - from venison to locally caught seafood. They even have local suppliers of ice-cream and cheese. Wonderfully positioned at the foot of the South Downs means there is plenty of walking, cycling and horse riding. If you’re after water sports then head to Chichester Harbour, just ten minutes down the road. If it’s retail therapy you’re after then Chichester is really close by - this pretty town, with its Medieval Cathedral, has plenty of shops - be it big name or independent - and an array of restaurants and cafes.
