It has now been transformed into a home, perfect for families or groups of friends looking for a quiet, luxurious retreat in the heart of the Lake District. You'll find Rowan at Grasmere at the end of a private lane with a bridge that takes you over the River Rothay. Once through the entrance gate, head up the Lakeland slate path to find the house with the rugged fells rising up behind it. There's plenty of space for your walking gear in the porch and then you can make your way through to the cosy interior. The kitchen, dining area and sun lounge are all spaces perfect for socialising. Whip up feasts using the contemporary, fully-equipped kitchen, and gather around the dining table to enjoy delicious meals together with views of the fells and crags. If you fancy eating outdoors and making the most of the scenery, step through the French doors and straight onto the south-facing terrace. After dinner, head into the comfortable and inviting living room, complete with a beautiful fireplace made of Lakeland slate and equipped with a wood-burning stove. Curl up on the sofas upholstered with Scottish Harris Tweed wool and enjoy a movie night or simply relax and unwind with a book while the fire crackles in the background. The living space also features two upholstered cushioned armchairs which can swivel so you can get comfy and take in the fell views.
