Upper Crumble is one of two charming cottages that have been created from the shell of a former 17th Century Grade II listed barn. This pretty and comfortable bolthole is situated near the medieval town of Cartmel in the Lake District and has its own private hot tub in the landscaped courtyard for added luxury. This marvellous cottage is ideal as a romantic retreat for couples who are looking to escape to the country. Spend your day wandering the outstanding countryside that surrounds you, then hop in your hot tub with a glass of wine and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet in style. The open plan, main living space is filled with natural light thanks to its large windows, and there’s a wood-burning stove to keep you nice and toasty in the colder months. You’ll be pleased to hear that the interior design of the cottage stays true to the local style, with whitewashed walls, rustic exposed beams and that wonderful farmhouse feel. Guests can cook up a tasty meal in the well-equipped kitchen that comes complete with a three-way microwave combination oven, in addition to a full range of similarly high-end kitchen appliances. Upper Crumble is perfectly positioned for anyone who wants to visit the exceptional countryside that the Lake District has to offer. Ramblers and outdoors enthusiasts will have plenty to see and do during the day, before relaxing in true comfort back at the cottage after a long day out and about. The topography on display in the national park is world famous and is a huge attraction for walkers and artists alike. However, there are also an increasingly varied range of additional things to do in this pretty corner of the world. Make sure you hop on a boat and enjoy seeing Windermere from the water. The nearby Cartmel is a great place for food lovers and has some excellent restaurants on offer. Simon Rogan’s two Michelin Star restaurant L’Enclume is situated there, as well as sister establishment Rogan & Co, which has just won its first Michelen star. The Cartmel Coffee is also worth a visit, before heading to the high-end artisanal Unsworth Yard market, with a micro brewery, cheese shop, and wine bar.
